Japanese curry crepe & stir-fried pork with Kim Chi

With light music, delicious food and cozy atmosphere, the coffee shop called ‘Clover café & crepe’ became my favourite place to hang out with friends. It was great that we had a small reunion again in this little café.

Today, some of my friends did the thesis defense, so I went to the university to support my friends. It reminded me of my thesis defense last year. I suddenly recalled all the anxiety and nervousness I felt when presenting my thesis and defending the committee’s questions. All kinds of thoughts and memories raced through my mind when I saw my friends doing the thesis defense.

After the stressful period, we went to the Clover café to have lunch. I went there once after my thesis defense last year. With a sigh of relief, we enjoyed the food while talking cheerfully. My friends ordered Japanese curry with rice, some sweet crepes with chocolate, a savoury crepe with Japanese curry. I decided to order stir-fried pork with Kim Chi.

The stir-fried pork with Kim Chi was served hot with rice. The scent of stir-fried pork gave off  a heady scent of hot spices. The marinated pork loin was stir-fried with kim chi and flavoured with hot Korean chili pepper paste called Gochujang. Therefore, the food had an attractive reddish and brownish colour. The salty taste of the pork went well with the spicy and sour Kim Chi. I like this combination of flavours. The spiciness was softened a little bit by the soy sauce and some slice tomatoes and cucumbers were added to the dish. The feeling of eating hot stir-fried pork with steamed white rice made my day.

I was also impressed by my friend’s Japanese curry crepe. The decoration was so attractive and eye-catching. This savoury crepe was made by spreading a thin layer of pancake batter. The savoury Japanese curry was added on the crepe and then it was folded elegantly.  The crepe had some fresh lettuce and tomato to create more flavours.
