Blooming Yellow Apricot Blossoms

The bright yellow apricot blossoms are the signs of a happy beginning, so my family always spare some time to select a yellow apricot tree for New Year decoration. This beautiful tree brings out the new year spirit in the South of Vietnam.

  Normally, the yellow apricot blossoms are only in bloom for 3 or 4 days. Then the delicate petals gradually start to fall off. Therefore, it is a challenging task to choose the apricot tree and make sure it will bloom during the first three days of the Lunar New Year. The yellow apricot petals are so delicate that even a gust of wind can make the petals fall off.

 

To solve the problem, my dad went to the flower market to buy the yellow apricot tree before the New Year Eve. This year our family’s yellow apricot tree was in bloom during the first three days of the Lunar New Year, so we felt very excited and happy. It was a great feeling to wake up in the morning and see the yellow apricot blossoms blooming with the spring spirit.
