Happy Vietnam Independence Day

Normally I feel tired and lazy due to the Monday Morning Blues, but today is the Vietnam Independence Day, so I feel energetic and full of pride.

September 2 1945 is the date when the president Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence at Ba Đinh Square, Hanoi to declare independence from Japan and France, which formed the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). In 1945, Korean also declared independence from Japan. It seemed that 1945 was the year that most of the country declared independence. Maybe it is related to the end of the World War 2 in 1945.

Today is the Independence Day, so all the students and some workers can have a day-off, but my parents still have to work on this day. We just had enough time to make a small celebration and then my parents went to work. I stayed home alone and continued working on the research for the Summer English Phonetics and Phonology Course. After finishing the summer course, I will have about 1 week to take a break before the Fall semester starts. Summer days seem to drift away so fast. It’s time to make a plan for a new season.
